DAY 26 of 60 - LOSE THE GUT CHALLENGE

A desire presupposes the possibility of action to achieve it; action presupposes a goal which is worth achieving.

Feeling Great at Any Age

You must admit… Feeling great at any age is the ultimate goal of the good life. First, you have to believe it, and then you have to surround and immerse yourself with those that know it's possible. That's what seals in the belief. I tell my patients that the same activities that are done in their twenties, should be attainable in their nineties.... and that goes for all the activities that go on with your partner behind closed doors!

I believe it's so important to have mentors to look up to and inspire you, and I'd like to showcase one of my inspirational heroes of all times... Jack LaLanne, the Godfather of fitness.

If anyone can get you going... It was Jack LaLanne. Besides his contagious personality to find an excitement, he was a pioneer and extremely talented. He's known as the Godfather of fitness for a reason. He was the first to open a health club in the United States and to have an exercise show on television. In the beginning of his career doctors reportedly advised their patients not to go to his gym and called him a health nut.

He is famous for creating the "jumping
Jack" and is known for several clever comments about health including: "Your waistline is your lifeline", "10 seconds on the lips and a lifetime on the hips", and "People don't die of old age, they die of inactivity."

He's known for many health feats in the Guinness book of world records:

  • including He swam the length of the Golden Gate Bridge underwater, carrying 140 pounds of equipment at the age of 40 in 1954.
  • LaLanne did 1,033 pushups in 23 minutes in 1956.
